SkySims 029

Hey guys. Okay, so I am quite literally pissing myself right now.. I totally just edited a mesh, and it doesn't look like shit. IKR??? Anyways, here it is.

When I first saw it, I really liked it. But then, when I opened it up with TSR Workshop, I realized it was so crappy I couldn't do it. But I really wanted it, so I went into Milkshape, and did something about it. And this was the end result. I am actually quite shocked that it came out so normal looking, with no issues. O.o But anyways. It looked like it was cemented to the head, so I made it bigger, and less ugly. *In my opinion.*

Amusez-Vous!

  4. Hi - Does your version also fix the lack of bone assignment? I have a different version of this hair but it animates badly in game. Hoping to find a retexture that also fixes the animation problems. Btw - I do so adore your retextures and yes! for making the hair look fuller. Before it was just clinging to the poor sim's head but I didn't realize it until I looked at your side by side comparison.

    1. Unfortunately no, it doesnt. :( I am still trying to learn, but I need some more practice. In the future I would love to be able to fix that, because I know how crappy the assignments are. :P

    3. Bone assignments are mostly knowing which bones to assign when and where and PRACTICE. In order to get smooth transition you're going to want to have about 50 transitions between the spine and the head. That means you're going to want to have a model to base your transitions on.
I've uploaded the one I use below:
      http://www.mediafire.com/?0o3ekzva774q7g1

You're going to want to select all of the mesh and go to your bone assignment tool and type '100' in the first window in the upper left and make sure the whole thing is assigned to head new.
So you're going to start doing your transitions at around the lips on the model, but that may change depending on the hair. You'll need to select everything below the lips using the select tool, and then you're going to go to your bone assignments window and fill in '2' in the uppper left box, and then '98' in the box just below it. Type '4' for Spine 1 in the box next to the 2, and then type '71' for head new below that. After you finish doing that, you're going to do another new selection JUST barely underneath the previous and then type '4' and '96' and leave the other two, and just keep going until you get to about fifty. By the time you finish doing '40' and '60' you should be just under the chin, and then you might want to do your transitions by 3's instead of 2's, because that's what I do, and its just easier. You should have everything assigned to the spine by the time you get just below the top of the shoulders.

Breast assignments work similarly, but you should begin about halfway up the arm and and only assign to the breast to a maximum of 60. You're going to want it at 60 only if the hair is almost touching the breast, and as you get farther away you might want to decrease that amount to 50. Additionally, you're going to have to do both breasts separately, or you're going to get the claw boob issue that Newsea hairs always have (the best example is in my cappriccio fix). Breast assignments are bones number 65 and 66.

There are also other things that you can do like clavicle and spine 2 and belly and pelvis assignments and cheek assignments, but you can explore those on your own. If you have any questions just email me at hairbymetalmoose@yahoo.com, but I may take some time to answer because I may be feeling pissy about something that has nothing to do with anything. Good luck!

  9. Hello.
I just downloaded this hair, and when I change my Sim's appearance with this hair and click done, it shows like that The Sims's short hair with very big hairless's spots.
When I'm changing my Sim's appearance it is perfect, this error only appears when I start playing.

    1. With most hairs, you have to have your graphics setting on very high. :) If not, the hair/mesh doesn't render correctly. There is really nothing anybody can do it. :P I'm sorry!
